My first day as Sheraton’s Beer Master is complete. I set up in the lobby and passed out samples from Earth Eagle Brewings. EE was easy to kick off with, as it is the closest brewery to the hotel. Took me 90 seconds to walk from the brewery to the lobby with 4 growlers. I poured the Summit Blonde Ale, Warrior Blonde Ale, Philthee Pale Ale and the Engine Joe Porter.
The most heard response to “would you like to try some craft beer from a local brewery?” was “No thanks, I am a wine drinker”. As a beer fan, I don’t take offense to such responses (to each their own) but as a man who likes to take a leap of faith I am hopeful there are wine drinkers looking to step outside the realm of grapes for a taste of malt and hops. This will be a continued challenge for me and one I am willing to take on!
The guests had a great response to Earth Eagle. The guests were thirsty and eager to learn of the craft beer scene of this great area. Mission accomplished!
Cheers,
Beer Master
